A Boy Named Goo

The only bit I can remember from last night's dream was fairly short compared to the rest of the dream.

I dreamed that I was in an auditorium. I don't know if it was a high school or a university auditorium. I was sitting pretty much in the center surrounded by other students. The place was packed; every seat filled. I don't think I knew anyone near me.

Apparently the reason we were in the auditorium was for a Goo Goo Dolls concert. I could hear the bland playing a song. I can't remember the song right now but ill try to look it up later. The problem though was that even though the band had already started playing, the curtain was still down. On the front of the curtain was some sort of flexible big screen. With the curtain down and the band playing people started getting mad, yelling at the stage. Even I started yelling for them to at least turn on the big screen so we could see something.

There was more I'm sure but this is all I remember.

Rice Cooker Confusion

Last night I had an odd dream about a rice cooker.

I was outside on a sidewalk. The location was a cross between the Woodhaven Pathmark parking lot and an on ramp to the Prospect Expressway/ Brooklyn Queens Expressway.

There were people all around walking hurriedly to their destinations. It was a very busy sidewalk. In my hands I held the cooking pot to an electric rice cooker. I'm not sure why or how I was able to do so, but I managed to get about 3 to 4 scoops/cups of rice in the pot. I also had a water source available. I think it was a garden hose. While trying to stand on this busy sidewalk, I proceeded to wash the rice. To those who don't know, the action of washing rice consists of adding a good amount of water to the rice pot, stirring it to let the starches/white cloudy stuff float to the top, and then pouring out the white water(Repeat 3 to 4 times or as long as desired). The problem I kept having though, was every time I went to pour out the water I would lose a good amount of rice. I believe I was pouring out into a sewer grate. With every wash the amount of rice would shrink down; almost to the point where I had about one cup of rice left in the pot. I remembering being very upset that I kept losing rice. But what could I do? No matter how much I tried not to lose rice, it wouldn't work. For some reason, while I was washing the rice I also added Soy Sauce to the pot.

When I was finally fed up with losing rice I decided to head into Pathmark to see if I could find something there to help me out. When I was around midway crossing the street, I woke up.

Weird. I wonder if washing rice is a common Asian dream.

Remembering my dreams

For several days now I have been having a hard time remembering my dreams. I think it may because I have been depriving myself of long periods of sleep. I think most of the week I've had an average of 5 to 6 hour nights. Though I think thats what I've always done. Maybe I only remember my dreams on the weekend when I can pass out for a good 10 to 12 hour sleeping marathon.

Perhaps thats why my dreams tend to be very odd. Sleep deprivation leads to an explosion of backed up subconsious thought. Hmmmm do I have a backed up subconsious? Is that even possible?

Space Pod Job

I had this weird dream last night.

In the dream I was flying around in this space pod that was launched from earth. It was rather small. And the reason I was flying around in it, is because it was my job to check up and maintain some sort of installation on a space station.

When I get to the space station I find that on the surface of the space station there is a small modern earth city built on it. I think the city was built to house one person. Like the person was some sort of experimental mutant or something living in this fake city. When I get there though, I fly around at a low altitude just observing. There is a part of the dream where I'm flying around in a department store and to exit the department store I decide to fly right through the biggest window I can find. I find that window at the store entrance right above the doors. When I hit the window I easily crash right through the glass and into the open. There's a lake out side of the store and I fly over that to gain altitude.

Eventually, for some reason I come to the conclusion that whatever I came to do at the space station just can't be done today so I decide I better return to earth. When I punch in the commands into my navigation computer to return back to earth (which functioned much like a handheld GPS) it says that the journey will take 5 hours. This is when I start thinking that I just used the space pod to fly out to a space station, did nothing, and am now returning premature. Whatever work or maintenance I would have done would normally have taken a day or two. So basically I just wasted a ton of company time and company money for nothing. That's when I decide to cancel the return to home on the navigation computer and just drift in space until the next day; just so that it looks like I spent some time doing something out in space.

Sometime after that decision, the dream shifts to my apartment/house. I say apartment/house because it is kind of like a mix of both my current apartment and my mother's house. * I'm with Judy and she needs to get to the airport to fly back to Buffalo. After trying to hurry her ass up to get packed we run into Eric and Eff. It turns out Eric had been staying over also and has to catch a flight today too, though their airports and airlines are different.

This is around where the dream ends.

Technite Future

I had a dream that Ethan and I were back at tech. But its not 1998, its the future, like near future. Anyways, we were on the 49th floor. Sort of just walking around. We were just leaving a computer class or something. Well eventually we get this idea that we should visit the old Aerospace classroom. So we head on down to this secret stair well that takes you right into the room. When we get there though, its super deserted. There are tons of rusty engines and engine parts. As we look around, this short black lady walks in and tells us what happened. I think she was our Biology teacher but I can't remember. Apparently sometime after we graduated the Aerospace major was cancelled. While she is telling us about how the place hasn't been used, we see this fuzzy hamster like creature with big eyes walking on this turbine. Its so cute! And it can roll up like a hedgehog; only it looks like a rock when it does. That's when I notice smaller rocks rolling all over the floor.
